Locking

Our Locking gas springs are used for a wide range of applications in various industries worldwide to adjust and positioning different loads.
Probably the most known application is the backrest of (office)chairs. But also wheelchairs, beds or tabletops are unimaginable without our Locking gas springs.

The gas spring is a hydropneumatic adjustment element, consisting of a pressure tube and piston rod with specially designed piston. A special seal and guide system seals off the tube. The gas spring is filled with 100% compressed nitrogen. The filling pressure acts on the cross sectional area of the piston rod and produces an extension force, which can be ‘selected’ within physical limits. The diameter, number and length of the cross flows in the piston determine the velocity of the extension speed. The damping performance of a gas spring can be adjusted to need and task.

Locking
When the valve in the piston is closed, the gas spring is locked in any desired position. Rigid or elastic can be achieved by adjusting the oil amount or adding a separator piston.

Mounted position
In general gas springs should be mounted with the piston rod facing downwards. For lockable gas springs,
there are several types which can be mounted in any desired position.

Maintenance
Gas springs are maintenance-free. Never treat the piston rod with paint, grease or oil and beware of  damaging the piston rod.

Loads
Gas springs should only be axially forced to ensure long lifetime and optimal performance.

Quality
All our gas springs are produced according to ISO9001 and TS16949. Each product is fully tested before leaving the production facility in order to ensure our high quality standards. We offer a twelve month guarantee for all our products.

We work with you to optimize your application. All our gas springs are custom made, and we are happy to offer you advise in finding the best solution for your application.

Gas springs are under high pressure. Do not heat or open any gas spring.
